Access Your Facebook Account with 3 Passwords

Access Facebook with 3 Passwords

Did you know that you can login to your Facebook account using 3 different passwords? Seems interesting isn’t it? Yep! Unlike any other online account which has only one password to access, Facebook lets you log in using 3 different variants of your password.
Only a few Facebook users are aware of this fact, but for many others, this might seem a bit surprising. Facebook accepts the following forms of your password:

1. Your Original Password

Let me explain this to you with the following example. Assume that your default Facebook password that you created during the sign-up process is:
Facebook-Password-1

2. Password with the Case Toggled

In the above password the letters ‘F’ and ‘P’ are in uppercase and the remaining are in the lowercase. If you TOGGLE the case where all the UPPERCASE characters are converted into the lowercase and vice versa, your default password “myFacebookPass” would become:
Facebook-Password-2
Now if you log in using the above toggled password, your Facebook will accept it and welcomes you! This is the first variation of your default password which is accepted by Facebook.

3. Password with the First Letter Capitalized

If the first character of your password is in the lowercase, you may just change that first letter to UPPERCASE and Facebook will again accept it and let you in. As in case of the above example where your default password is “myFacebookPass”, if you just change the first letter to UPPERCASE, your password would be “MyFacebookPass” and this should work fine as well:
Facebook-Password-3
Please note that this option will work only for the Mobile uers!

Why 3 Passwords?

Now, you all know that Facebook can be accessed using 3 different passwords. But you may be curious to know the actual reason behind it.
Well, this is definitely not because Facebook has a bug or a serious vulnerability. In fact, this is just an option provided by Facebook itself to make the sign-in process easier for the users. Here’s how:
The most common reason for the authentic logins to be rejected is when the CAPS LOCK is ON. This is where the first variation comes in handy. That means, when the CAPS LOCK is ON the case gets reversed (toggled) for your password but Facebook will accept this as well.
In case of mobile users, it is a common for the first letter of the password to get capitalized which often leads to the login failure. So, in order to tackle this issue, Facebook will also accept the password where only the first letter is capitalized.
Thus if the CAPS LOCK is accidentally enabled, the toggled password feature would still let you log in to your account!

Access Your Computer Remotely From Windows Mobile

Have you ever wanted to use Windows 7 or XP or Vista on your Windows Mobile or Pocket PC  instead of Windows Mobile OS? Well now you can do that. It won’t be as responsive as you would like it to be but you can use it. No, this tutorial is not going to teach you how to install Windows on your phone but just explaining how to setup an app on your phone and also on your PC to allow you to use your PC through your phone. Without waiting any more lets begin the tutorial then:rdm.title Access Your Computer Remotely From Windows Mobile
  • First download and install RDM+ on your PC. Download it from here.
  • Install the desktop Client on your PC. Ensure that you have Active Sync on your PC. If you don’t then download and install it from here.
  • During the the installation you will be asked to create an ID and after the installation you will be using this ID so pick a remember-able ID and Password. After the installation open RDM+ and note the computer number given to you.
  • Now run RDM+ for Smart Phone or Pocket PC and follow the instructions given in it. Enter the ID and password and Computer Number when it is asked.
  • Now all you have to do to access your PC from your phone is connect to your PC while RDM+ is running on your PC and run the RDM+ app on your Windows Mobile.
That’s it. It may not be as good as using Windows on your PC but you can do pretty much anything you would do on your PC on your Windows Mobile Device now.

GOOGLE + APP READY FOR IPHONE USERS

Google+ is expanding its mobile reach with today’s debut of an iPhone app dedicated to the new social networking site.

Up until now, clever iPhone users could have added a link to their home screens, but that still would have gone straight to the browser window. (Anyone who did this was also likely already a diehard Google+ addict.)

google-plus-iphone-app

But that isn’t the case anymore. Google has released, as expected, a free app that is available immediately for iOS 3.1 and higher. The technical requirements are that this app only works for the following devices: iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4.

The mobile interface isn’t much different from the ultra-simple and clean desktop version. The app features focus on Circles for sharing particular items with the “right people,” the Huddle for group messaging, and the Stream, which is basically a news feed from all of a user’s Circles.

Naturally, there has already been a dedicated Android app for some time now, downloadable for free from the Android Market.

The Goog’s foray into social networking debuted a few weeks ago, and it is still in invite-only mode. Nevertheless, the Mountain View, Calif.-based company asserted that Google+ already retains 10 million active users.

UPDATE: There are already issues with the Google+ for the iPhone app. Apparently iTunes picked up a test version of the app first, which was available to consumers to download for at least one hour and 40 minutes.

The correct version is listed as 1.0.1.1809. So if you don’t have that one installed, you’ll have to uninstall the first copy and then download this new copy.

Secret Codes of Android Phones/Samsung Wave

                 http://www.androix.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/presentation-video-samsung-galaxy-s-android-152701-1.jpg
FYI These codes have been obtained by decoding various .apk files present in the phone firmware.

*#*#4636#*#*

This code can be used to get some interesting information about your phone and battery. It shows following 4 menus on screen:

* Phone information
* Battery information
* Battery history
* Usage statistics

*#*#7780#*#*

This code can be used for a factory data reset. It'll remove following things:

* Google account settings stored in your phone
* System and application data and settings
* Downloaded applications

It'll NOT remove:

* Current system software and bundled applications
* SD card files e.g. photos, music files, etc.

PS: Once you give this code, you get a prompt screen asking you to click on "Reset phone" button. So you get a chance to cancel your operation.

*2767*3855#

Think before you give this code. This code is used for factory format. It'll remove all files and settings including the internal memory storage. It'll also reinstall the phone firmware.

PS: Once you give this code, there is no way to cancel the operation unless you remove the battery from the phone. So think twice before giving this code.

*#*#34971539#*#*

This code is used to get information about phone camera. It shows following 4 menus:

* Update camera firmware in image (Don't try this option)
* Update camera firmware in SD card
* Get camera firmware version
* Get firmware update count

WARNING: Never use the first option otherwise your phone camera will stop working and you'll need to take your phone to service center to reinstall camera firmware.

*#*#7594#*#*

This one is my favorite one. This code can be used to change the "End Call / Power" button action in your phone. Be default, if you long press the button, it shows a screen asking you to select any option from Silent mode, Airplane mode and Power off.

You can change this action using this code. You can enable direct power off on this button so you don't need to waste your time in selecting the option.

*#*#273283*255*663282*#*#*

This code opens a File copy screen where you can backup your media files e.g. Images, Sound, Video and Voice memo.

*#*#197328640#*#*

This code can be used to enter into Service mode. You can run various tests and change settings in the service mode.

WLAN, GPS and Bluetooth Test Codes:

*#*#232339#*#* OR *#*#526#*#* OR *#*#528#*#* - WLAN test (Use "Menu" button to start various tests)

*#*#232338#*#* - Shows WiFi MAC address

How To Trace a Mobile Phone Location with Google Latitude

The cool thing about Google Latitude is that there are really no fancy, expensive gadgets requ
ired. All you need is a mobile phone and you can build what’s essentially a GPS network of friends, without the need for GPS technology. Wondering whether your buddy Jim is still at work? Just log onto Google Latitude, or check Google Maps on your phone, and sure enough, Jim’s icon shows up on the map where he works. Did your best friend go missing after her date the other night? If she left her phone on, all of her friends can check out where she’s currently located.
The potential uses of this technology are amazing, and Google is just getting started by integrated it’s cellular triangulation technology with Google Maps. MakeUseOf authors previously covered similar applications, such as NavXS and BuddyWay. However, BuddyWay requires that the phone or PDA is GPS enabled. The convenience of Google Latitude is that you don’t need GPS, and it’ll work on almost any mobile phone that can use Google Maps. According to Google, these include Android-powered devices, iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile 5.0+ and Symbian.

tracing a mobile phone location

Setting it up is as easy as typing your phone number into the entry field on the Google Latitude main page, or you can visit “google.com/latitude” with your mobile device and install it directly. It’s basically the latest version of Google Maps with Latitude embedded. Once you’ve installed this version on your phone, you’re good to go – just click on “Menu” and then “Latitude.”

Setting Up Google Latitude With a Network of Friends

Setting up the application on your mobile device is a piece of cake. Once you open Latitude on your phone, you can immediately start adding friends with their email address. If none of your friends have Latitude installed on their phones yet, forward them this article and tell them to install it!

trace mobile number location

When you first fire up the map after you’ve enabled Latitude with your profile, you’ll immediately see your regular Google map pointer replaced by your picture icon, email address and your location the last time your device was polled.

trace your cell phone

Application does a great job keeping the map updated with your status within a certain radius, depending on where the nearest cell towers are. However, while keeping track of yourself on the map while you’re driving or walking around town is fun, it can get pretty boring when you’re doing it alone. Latitude lets you have a little bit of fun with your network of friends by letting you add each of them to your Latitude “friends” list so that you can see their locations too. To test this feature, I called up a friend of mine with a Blackberry down in Derry, New Hampshire, and asked him to fire up Latitude and add me as a friend. Once we confirmed each other as friends, I instantly showed up on his map and he showed up on mine!

added friend

When you click on your friend’s icon, you can see their contact and location information, or you can choose how you want to share your own information with this specific friend. This means that you can pick and choose the level of privacy that you want for your own status updates based on individual friends. You can provide your exact location to your best friend, while keeping your details somewhat vague for your parents. Also, within the Latitude menu, you can set your privacy level for everyone across the board.

privacy

You can toggle your privacy settings back and forth, so that when you’re somewhere that you don’t want anyone to know about, you just flip your status to “Hide your location.” When you’re back where you’re supposed to be, you just flip your privacy back to “Detect your location.” If you want to fool your friends (or your boss) into thinking that you’re somewhere you’re not, you can manually set your location.

Using Google Latitude Online

Of course, tracing a mobile phone location isn’t enough for Google. This is the part that really made me raise my eyebrows. Google has incorporated this mobile technology into an online gadget that you can view and manipulate from your iGoogle page.

igoogle5

This means that even if you don’t have your mobile phone with you, but you have access to the Internet, you can check out where all of your friends are at the moment, or update your own location on Latitude so that they know where you are. This whole concept takes the whole architecture and intent of Twitter and adds another entire level of graphical interactivity to it, with visual, real-time status updates for your friends. The next evolution of this technology that I envision is the ability to embed a Google Latitude widget in your blog or web page that allows you to share your own Latitude location information with your readers. Since the status bar already exists for short text updates, this feature would turn Google Latitude into a more graphical version of Twitter.

Have you ever used any of the latest “friend tracking” mobile phone technologies for tracing a mobile phone location? Which one is your favorite? Share your opinion in the comments section below.
